Tourists Recount Terrifying Experience at Universal Studios' Earthquake Attraction
Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 11:14PM Tourists from all over the world are sharing their terrifying experiences after having survived Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park ride, Earthquake: The Big One. The attraction, which is part of the studio tram tour, recreates what it feels like to be in an 8.3 magnitude temblor.
"Wow, now I know what it feels like to be in a real earthquake. It's scary!", said Mindy K. from Ohio. Bill J. from Nebraska seconded those feelings, and added that he better understands what the Japanese must be going through after their devastating 8.9 quake. "Before I just didn't see what all the fuss was about, but now I get it", he said.
In fact, a number of Japanese tourists politely thanked Universal for providing the experience, as they were feeling some pangs of guilt for being lucky enough to be away on vacation.
Almost all of the tourists mentioned that a thought did occur to them while on the ride like, "What would happen if a real earthquake happened during the simulation?"
Forget reality. Earthquakes are fun!
