9 Year Old Can’t Remember Where She Was on 9/11

But not this kid.DALLAS, TX - Viewers were shocked today when a 4th grader from Plano, TX said she honestly can’t remember where she was or what she was doing on 9/11. The unfortunate admission happened during local news affiliate KTTV’s special anniversary report, America Remembers, and almost completely ruined an otherwise successfully maudlin and sappy segment.
The interviews were aired live, which left producers unable to edit the gaffe, a mistake they say will never happen again. Commenting on the controversy, reporter Katrina Vanders recalls her mix of frustration and utter astonishment at the child’s stubborn denial of having any knowledge of that fateful day.
“To be honest, I thought she was kidding. I mean, who doesn’t remember where they were on 9/11? But when she kept on insisting that she wasn’t even born yet, I knew we were in trouble. Realizing the whole piece was in danger of losing it’s mawkish sentimentality, I decided to cut the interview short”, said Vanders.
Indeed, the video, which has already been making the rounds on Youtube, has triggered angry reactions from Americans all over the country. Many can’t seem to fathom that anyone, anywhere, at anytime, for whatever reason, no matter what, wouldn’t remember THE DAY THAT CHANGED AMERICA.
Comments included everything from, “What an unpatriotic little bitch” to, “Give the kid a break, she can’t help it if she wasn’t privileged enough to be alive to see all the death and destruction, so as to be able to relive it every year”, and many other similar sentiments.
Parents of the girl later apologized for their child’s insensitivity and ignorance, and promised to make sure that, like the rest of us lucky enough to have vivid memories of that day, she too will learn to never ever, ever forget it.

nice..just force the kid to have memories of something utterly depressing,Americans are so nice..at least they make sure everyone (including the kids) suffer with them..god bless America!
